Terms of Service

Last updated · 12 May 2026

Welcome to PantryPal. These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you and PantryPal ("we," "our," or "us") governing your access to and use of the PantryPal mobile application and any related services (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility and account creation

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are between 13 and the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

To use most features of the Service you must create an account. When you do, you agree to:

We may refuse, suspend, or terminate accounts at our reasonable discretion, including where we believe these Terms have been breached.

2. Account termination and deletion

You may delete your account at any time from within the App. When you do, your profile, preferences, saved recipes, and usage data are permanently deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms, misuse the Service, or where we are required to do so by law. On termination, your right to access the Service ends immediately. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and governing law) will continue to apply.

3. Subscriptions and billing

The Service offers both a free tier and paid subscription tiers that unlock additional usage limits and features. Subscriptions are sold and processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and managed on our side via RevenueCat. By purchasing a subscription, you agree to the following:

Your statutory rights as a consumer, including any rights under UK consumer protection law, are not affected by this section.

4. AI-generated recipes — important safety notice

Please read this section carefully. Recipes provided by the Service are generated by artificial intelligence based on the ingredients and preferences you supply. They are offered for general informational and inspirational purposes only, and may contain errors, omissions, or unsafe instructions.

You acknowledge and agree that:

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for any illness, allergic reaction, injury, or other harm arising from your preparation or consumption of any recipe generated by the Service.

5. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of, restrict, or inhibit anyone else's use of the Service. In particular, you agree not to:

6. Intellectual property

6.1 Our content

The Service, including the App, its design, branding, logos, text, graphics, and software, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use.

6.2 Your content

You retain ownership of any content you create or supply through the Service, including the ingredients lists and preferences you submit. You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to host, store, process, and display this content solely for the purpose of operating, providing, and improving the Service.

6.3 Generated recipes

Recipes generated by the Service for you may be used by you for personal, non-commercial purposes. AI-generated outputs may not be unique to you, and similar outputs may be generated for other users. To the extent we hold any rights in the generated text, we grant you a non-exclusive, perpetual licence to use it for your personal cooking.

6.4 Feedback

If you send us suggestions, ideas, or feedback about the Service, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use that feedback for any purpose, without obligation to you.

7. Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers, including Firebase, OpenAI, RevenueCat, and the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Your use of those providers' services is also governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of these third parties, and their availability and behaviour are outside our control.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including, but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty arising from course of dealing or usage of trade.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, free of viruses or other harmful components, or that defects will be corrected. You use the Service at your own risk.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any warranty, right, or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

10. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and reasonable expenses (including legal fees) arising out of or related to your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of any law or the rights of any third party.

11. Changes to the Service

We are continually improving the Service. We may add, modify, or remove features at any time, and may suspend or discontinue the Service (in whole or in part) at our discretion. Where reasonably practicable, we will give advance notice of material changes that affect paid subscribers.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will give reasonable notice (for example, through the App or by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page). Your continued use of the Service after the updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service and may close your account.

13. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them (including non-contractual disputes or claims) are governed by the laws of England and Wales, United Kingdom.

The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any such dispute or claim, except that, if you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the United Kingdom or in the European Union, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live, and you may benefit from mandatory provisions of the law of that country.
